Summary Length‐weight relationships ( LWR ) were estimated for 37 fish species belonging to ten families from the middle and lower stream of the Hongshui River, one of the main tributaries to the Pearl River, Southwest China. Length‐weight relationships for 26 species are unknown to FishBase and new maximum lengths are recorded for 20 species. These results are useful for fishery research, conservation and management in the Hongshui River.
