Summary The present work reports the length–weight relationships ( LWR ) for 20 fish species from the G uandu R iver basin, S outheastern, B razil, a lotic system that supplies most of the water for R io de J aneiro M unicipality and nearby cities. Length–weight relationships for nine of these species were unknown to F ishbase, and new maximum lengths are given for eight of the species.
