A full century after the M exican R evolution of 1910 and 18 years after the 1994 Z apatista uprising, M exico, our southern neighbor, is in the throes of another crisis, gripped by an epoch of unprecedented drug‐related violence and war which is bleeding in and out of its borders, both south and north. This report provides an update on continuing Z apatista autonomy, placing the narrative into the context of the impact of the narco wars on M exican agricultural communities.
