Does contact with the mentally ill affect nurses; attitudes to mental illness?

This study examines the effects of contact on nurses' attitudes towards psychiatric patients. Three groups of nurses with differing degrees of contact answered the Attitude towards Mental Illness (AMI) questionnaire. No differences were found among the three groups. Practical nurses, nurses with less experience and religious nurses held more positive attitudes
