There is an increasing concern in developing methods to teach communication behaviours to undergraduate medical students. A literature review revealed that there is no research on specific programmes. We hypothesized that undergraduate medical students had poor communication behaviours and would improve with specific training. To test that hypothesis 23 medical students at the University of Lagos went through a training programme in communication behaviours. There was a significant improvement in communication behaviours after training.
