Stimuli for the paired‐associate learning of digits and symbols were projected to the left, right or both cerebral hemispheres in a group of right‐handed and a group of left‐ and mixed‐handed subjects. It was found that the performance of non‐right‐handed subjects was superior. Presentation to the left or to both cerebral hemispheres resulted in an equivalent level of performance which was superior to that found when stimuli were directed to the right hemisphere.
