S ummary . This study examines a neglected area: the relationship between personality and academic achievement for school children in a non‐Western culture. EPI or JEPI scores for black Ugandans of three different age groups were correlated with exam, results from several school subjects. The pattern of results was remarkably similar to that found in Britain.
