S ummary . Three scales measuring attitudes to education were administered to a representative sample of 300 teachers. The results were analysed by sex, age, political party, religious affiliation and type of school. Tests of significance were applied, both to the relation between these biographical categories and to differences in attitude between the groups of teachers.
