S ummary . The aim of the investigation was to consider relationships between assessments of physique, general‐motor capacity and a test of temperament. The study was undertaken with boys in the first three years of secondary modern schools and gave an opportunity to examine the suitability of the Iowa‐Brace test for use with British children. Results indicate that there is some relationship between aspects of motor capacity and surgency of temperament.
