In their recent discussion of the Symptom‐Sign Inventory (SSI), Gordon & Gregson (1970) deduce some empirical hypotheses from the theory advanced by Foulds (1965) and test them on a small body of data which they have assembled. The purpose of this note is to show that some of their deductions from the theory are mistaken.
