Analysis of patterns of meaning ascribed to social positions in real‐life situations is important but difficult. The Semantic Differential technique provides the flexibility and meaningfulness which other tests lack, and its use is demonstrated in the results obtained from eleven nurses with specialized experience in a mental hospital ward.
