A conference arranged by the Veterinary Advisory Committee of the Horserace Betting Levy Board was held at the Royal Society premises in London on 22 February 1983. The conference was divided into two sections. Part 1 dealt exclusively with recent studies on equine respiratory infections, while in the second part reports of work on a variety of subjects, including immunology, muscle physiology and haemodynamics, were presented.
