SUMMARY Two clinical cases of intrathoracic cardiac resuscitation in a pony and a horse are described. The massage was performed via a right sixth intercostal approach and heart action was rapidly restored. The pony died in the immediate postoperative period from an haemorrhage into the medulla oblongata caused by hitting the floor with extreme force. After 11 days the horse died due to a massive intrathoracic infection. RÉSUMÉ Deux cas cliniques de ressuscitation cardiaque par voie intra‐thoracique, l'un chez un poney, l'autre chez un cheval, sont décrites. Le massage fut effectué par approche à droite au niveau du sixième espace intercostal et le fonctionnement du coeur fut rapidement rétabli. Le poney mourut dans la période suivant l'intervention d'une hémorragie bulbaire (medulla oblongata) provoquée par un choc très brutal sur le sol. Le cheval mourut onze jours après l'intervention à la suite d'une infection intrathoracique très importante. ZUSAMMENFASSUNG Bei einem Pony und einem Pferd wird die intrathorakale Herz‐Wiederbelebung beschrieben. Die Massage wurde durch den sechsten Interkostalraum vorgenommen mit raschem Wiedereinsetzen der Herztätigkeit. Das Pony starb sofort nach der Operation an einer Blutung in die Medulla oblongata, hervorgerufen durch heftiges Aufschlagen des Kopfes auf dem Boden. Elf Tage nach der Operation starb das Pferd an einer massiven intrathorakalen Infektion. SUMARIO Se citan dos casos de resuscitación aórtica en un pony y un caballo. De efectué masaje cardíaco sobre el 6o. espacio intercostal dereche y el trabajo cardíaco fué rápidamente restaurado. El pony murió immediatamente después de la operación debido a una hemoragia en la médula oblonga debido a un golpe muy fuerte que se produjo contra el suelo. Después de 11 días el caballo murió debido a una infección masiva intraaórtica.
