TODAY, organizations want to publish information simultaneously in print, on the Web, and on CDs. At the same time, they want to tailor content for specific audiences—and they want it fast and up‐to‐date. Automating the publication process makes this practical and efficient. But it poses new challenges for corporations that want to publish the information and for the information architects who design their systems.
