THE DREAM IS A SIMULATION, assessment, and communications system that permits diverse members of the product‐development team to create and evaluate input within the framework of a integrated database. One step toward making this a reality is the Advanced Driver Interface Design/Assessment Project, a program funded by the Federal Highway Administration, which Charles Burnette believes reveals some of the major interactive pathways along which design is moving into the twenty‐first century.
