— The possible impact origin of the Sevetin and Susice structures (Bohemia, Czech Republic) has been tested by searching for shock metamorphism in quartz. Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) investigation revealed microstructures originating only from tectonic deformation. No lattice defects characteristic of shock deformation have been detected, even considering possible annealing of microstructures. An impact origin for Sevetin and Susice is not supported by TEM study.
