— Thirty‐three microtektites have been recovered from four different sites in the Central Indian Basin. Based on their physical properties, geographical occurrence and chemical composition, they are identified as belonging to the Australasian tektite strewn field. Microtektites from three of the sites under study are from surficial samples implying bioturbation and/or erosion or non‐deposition.
