— The “tektite‐like bodies” reported recently from Lonar Crater, India (Murali et al. , 1987) are, in fact, high sodium (up to 22% Na 2 O) artificial glasses and so need not be explained by unrealistic, natural mixing models. These bodies have no bearing on the problem of impactite chemistry or tektite generation.
