Shatter Cones at the Middlesboro Structure, Kentucky

Shatter cones have been discovered in two residual boulders in the central uplift eye of the Middlesboro structure, Kentucky. This finding gives additional support to the interpretation of Englund and Roen (1962) that this is probably an astrobleme, i.e., an ancient meteorite impact scar.
