At approximately 6:09 P.M. on November 7, 1963 a fireball passed over the San Francisco Bay area and exploded over the Pacific Ocean. News broadcasts the following morning reported that power failure and radio interference occurred at the time the fireball passed. Investigation revealed that the radio interference was not caused by the fireball but by a coincidental equipment malfunction within the radio station. Less complete data on the power failures suggests that they, too, were coincidental and unrelated to the fireball. Reports on the fireball were received from 65 individuals. Three reports of anomalous sounds are unconvincing.
