The determination of the coördinates of the sub‐end point of a meteor by the method of least‐squares is discussed. This method is applicable when 3 or more bearings of the sub‐end point are available, and makes use of the equation for the perpendicular distance from a point to a line. A simple numerical example is worked out in detail.
