A bstract Accurate density‐measurements are given for 2 australites and for 3 moldavites, and a chemical analysis, made of a moldavite, is compared with that of other tektites and with those of ancient and modern glasses. The chemical analysis is then used to approximate the coefficient of thermal expansion and other physical characteristics of tektitic material.
