ABSTRACT This article presents one more reason for the teaching of meteoritics in high schools as well as in colleges. Proper insight into the nature of meteorites and meteors would reduce confusion between meteors and burning planes. This understanding would save both lives and property and at the same time would increase the efficiency with which meteoriticists could attack the problem of meteor surveys.
