Altho the compressive strength of meteorites is important in relation to the detonation of meteorites in flight and probably in other connections in meteoritics, only one determination of it existed prior to this study. The compressive strength of 8 stones, ranging from 900 to 54,000 lb./in 2 ., is reported.
