The Pre‐Teacher Assessment Project assesses a sophomore education major on thirteen skill dimensions important for teaching. Students have opportunities to exhibit these dimensions during four simulation activities. Trained assessors conduct the simulations and evaluate these exercises. Follow‐up modules are provided for students to remediate weak areas. The process is currently being validated. Pre‐Teacher Assessment has the potential to benefit education majors, inservice teachers, and university faculty.
