In order to encourage students to utilize language communication skills, students at Arbor Heights Junior High School (Omaha, Nebraska) were provided the opportunity to organize and implement a Spanish and Latin American evening. The students were invited to take total charge of the event. Committees were formed and plans were made for food and entertainment. The following article is a description of the organization and implementation of the “Fiesta” night. It provides suggestions on how to put together a student and parent evening through a junior high school foreign language department.
