A young graduate student from France, fluent in English, Italian, and French, was contracted by a foreign language department, public secondary school level, to assist in appropriate language classes for one school quarter. The objective was to increase the students' oral‐aural skills and their understanding of the cultural lifestyle of the target language. To measure the resulting effect on their attitude toward foreign culture and language, pre‐ and posttesting of attitude was part of the experiment. The effect was positive for the students, and in two measurements the difference was significant (belief in the necessity of language accuracy for better understanding and desire to speak the target language).
