During the last five years, inservice education for foreign language teachers has focused on short‐term workshops varying in length from a few days to two or three weeks. These workshops have focused on specific teacher needs and on the preparation of ready‐to‐use classroom materials. This article offers a working checklist designed to facilitate the planning and implementation of a workshop which is highly participant‐oriented. The checklist is divided into three sections: program, publicity, and service. The program segment focuses on the cognitive aspects of the workshop, while the service segment provides suggestions for meeting the affective and psychomotor needs of the participants. The publicity segment offers suggestions for wide visibility and efficient preregistration procedures.
