. A survey of results on reduction of models related to problems of natural resource modeling using the boundary function method is presented. Detailed reduction procedures as well as conditions under which the reductions are at all possible are discussed. Particular asymptotic techniques are illustrated by simple examples taken from chemical kinetics, and a realistic example from atmospheric chemistry modeling.
