Water and watershed concerns integrate research challenges with human needs and they reflect the global urgency of many strategic, socioeconomic, and environmental crises. Issues of water availability (quantity, quality, timing), ecosystem functions and services, and human health and safety provide ample opportunity for new discoveries and the employment of existing knowledge to meet educators’ and decision makers’ needs.
