Based on evidence from observation of some twenty cases, there would appear to be a relationship between the incidence and severity of herpes simplex attacks and the ingestion of daily fluoride in the form of tablet supplementation. Although only anecdotal at present, the cases presented seem to indicate that children who had previously suffered from recurrent herpes entered into a period of partial or complete remission when receiving daily fluoride tablet supplementation. Further observations are needed to confirm this relationship.
