Calcium hydroxide apexification treatment can be performed successfully in a non‐vital permanent tooth to attain apical closure and periapical healing. Disinfection of the root canal prior to the introduction of the calcium hydroxide dressing aids the process. This paper reports on such treatment in a newly erupted non‐vital premolar tooth with no visible signs of dental caries or other crown abnormality. Early radiographic assessment of permanent teeth is recommended.
