A personal filing system for storing and retrieving reprints or other documents according to author, category or year of publication is described. The system incorporates a master file of all items and secondary reference files sorted in order of authors or categories of information. Manual or computer‐based versions of the system permit speedy and reliable retrieval of items even from master files containing thousands of references.
