A bstract — Forty day‐patients were followed up after dental treatment under general anaesthesia. Of these, 29 patients were satisfied with their care, while the others felt that they were discharged too early. Significant postoperative morbidity was experienced in 17 patients but tolerance to this was high, especially when forewarned. Two definitely refused to have a similar day‐stay arrangement in the future.
