A bstract — Inflammatory exocrinopathy is a disorder most commonly affecting middle‐aged women and is often associated with the presence of a connective tissue disease. The symptoms of salivary gland and lacrimal gland involvement are most prominent. Other terms applied to this disorder include Mikulicz, Gougerot's, Sjögren's, and Sicca syndromes. Reduced salivary function leads to many oral complications. The criteria for the diagnosis of salivary inflammatory exocrinopathy are considered and the oral management discussed.
