A bstract — Observations on casts of attrited maxillary dentitions from 32 Aboriginal adults showed a close relationship between the occlusal plane and the Hamular Notch Incisive Papilla (H.I.P. plane). Using the same reference points for 42 casts of edentulous maxillae, a close relationship between the H.I.P. plane and the Frankfort plane was found.
