A bstract The question of whether the use by dentists of a sedation technique, nitrous oxide relative analgesia, is related to tendencies to psychological instability was tested. No correlation was found. The use of this technique was however related to age and number of years since graduation, being more commonly used by the younger and more recent graduates.
