I n 1901 the University Dental Hospital was established, for the purpose of providing dental attendance for persons unable to pay the fees of ordinary dentists, and also to provide facilities for the instruction of the students attending the University Dental School. It amalgamated with the Dental Hospital of Sydney on 1st June, 1905. The business of ' the Hospital i s carried on in a handsome building, erected by She' Government in Chalmers-street, Sydney, the. foundation-stone being laid by the then Chief Secretary, Mr. W.' H. Wood, M.L.A., on 25th July, 1910. The Hospital is open for the treatment of patients from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, Saturdays excepted. The honorary dental surgeons are appointed by the Executive Committee of the Hospital. The University lecturers in surgical and mechanical dentistry are ex officio honorary dental surgeons of the Hospital. The fee payable by University students for the dental practice of the Hospital is £15 per annum. Other fees paid by students vary according to the course taken.
