A bstract — A written and clinical examination acceptable to six of the eight Australian dental boards and designed for the assessment of overseas‐trained dentists was introduced in 1979 by the Expert Panel in Dentistry of the Committee on Overseas Professional Qualifications (COPQ). It is planned to hold the clinical examination, which was developed with the assistance of the Dental Board of New South Wales, in various State capitals in future years.
