A bstract — A survey to determine the dental knowledge, habits and current dental status of 303 public hospital antenatal patients was undertaken. It was found that 85 per cent of the group needed dental treatment, and this was considered urgent in over one‐third of the cases. The medical profession should be made more aware of this problem, and there is need for improved inter‐professional liaison in this field.
