Four new species of Goniothalamus (Annonaceae) are described from Borneo. Goniothalamus bygravei sp. nov., from Sarawak and Brunei, is similar to G. borneensis but is easily distinguished as it has longer petioles and more secondary veins per leaf. The name Goniothalamus kamarudinii sp. nov. is published for collections from Mt Kinabalu in Sabah, which were previously assigned to G. montanus ; the latter species is confirmed as endemic to Peninsular Malaysia. Goniothalamus megalocalyx sp. nov., from Brunei, Kalimantan Timur and Sarawak, is remarkable for its large calyx which distinguishes it from all other congeneric species in the region. Goniothalamus phaeotrichus sp. nov. from Sabah, Sarawak and Kalimantan, has a densely hairy young twigs, similar to G. rufus , G. tomentosus and G. velutinus .
