Acacia qandalensis , sp. nov., and A. tephrophylla , sp. nov., from north‐eastern Somalia, are described and illustrated. A. qandalensis grows on limestone rocks, often in steep and exposed places, and is known from 600–1400 m altitude from the Cal Miskaat Mts in the west to near Bunder Murrayha in the east. A. tephropkylla obviously has a more restricted area of distribution and is known only from stony or rocky places on limestone at 1300–1800 m altitude in the Cal Miskaat Mts, where it is the dominant woody plant over large areas. Both species are related to A. etbaica.
