Oreopanax is represented by twenty species in Ecuador. The morphological basis for their classification is briefly discussed. A key to the species is provided. A description of each species is given. Six species are described as new (Oreopanax grandifolius, O. impolitus, O. microflorus, O. obscurus, O robustus, and 0. trifidus), while nine names with type in Ecuador are reduced to synonyms.
