An anamorph of Chaenothecopsis viridireagens occurring in the field is reported. It is coelomycetous and the conidiomata are formed on stalks which often branch to form tree‐like complexes. Similar structures are formed in axenic cultures. This anamorph is compared to anarnorphs of other Chaenothecopsis species. In cultures a hyphomy‐cetous anamorph was also formed.
