Four species of brown algae, Sphacelaria arctica, S. plumosa, Desmarestia aculeata , and midribs of a Fucus species have been found in Holocene and interstadial deposits in Greenland. The green alga Chlorochytrium dermatocolax and the red alga Audoui‐nella cfr. microscopica are reported for the first time in such deposits. All species are present in the extant flora of marine, benthic algae from Greenland. They are very well preserved and can be identified to species level.
