Geranium thessalum is described from Mt Siniatsikon (Askion) in N Greece. It is closely related to G. subcaulescens ĽHer. ex DC. and G. cinereum Cav. It grows in alpine habitats between 1700 and 2100 m. The taxonomic position of the species is discussed.
