The identification of Tithonia voucher specimens as T. rotundifolia (Mill.) Blake, used for sesquiterpene lactone chemical investigations, have been found to be T. diversifolia (Hemsl.) A. Gray. The compound Ivalin, also is reported for the first time from T. calva Sch. Bip. in Semann.
