Limbal stem deficiency (LSCD) is a severe ocular disease which may lead to vision impairment or corneal blindness. Beside conservative options like topical and systemical medical therapy, chronic stage treatment options include conjunctival replacement procedures and limbal autografting. If limbal cell transplanation in form of either cultivated limbal epithelial transplantation (CLET), simple limbal epithelial transplantation (SLET) or conjunctival limbal autograft (CLAU) and corneal transplantation are not successful a Keratoprosthesis in form of a Boston Keratoprosthesis or a Osteo‐odonto‐ Keratoprosthesis might be the last chance for these patients. In the following presentation indication and surgical options in LSCD will be discussed.
