Summary Treating glaucoma successfully means avoiding the occurrence of visual disability in the individual patient. Since the rate of vision loss can be extremely variable among patients, an accurate phenotyping is essential in planning the proper therapy for each patient. Besides, the recent inclusion of patients’ reported outcomes ( PRO s), in the glaucoma therapeutic algorithm, is increasing the complexity of the scenario. This presentation will focus, then, on (a) the available tools to phenotype the glaucoma patient(s), (b) the criteria for assessing the intensity and the timing of different treatment modalities and (c) the state‐of‐the‐art in the evaluation of PRO s in glaucoma.
