Summary Aim To evaluate if the embedding of an Intraocular lens in the sclera is an easy, safe and beneficial for the patients with aphakia surgical procedure. Methods We examined the notes of 42 patients who underwent surgery for aphakia and they had an scleral embedded IOL. All procedures performed by the same surgeon under the same settings at Venizeleio Hospital of Heraklion. Results Final visual acuity, stability, difficulty of the procedure, astigmatism produced, complications and patients satisfaction were recorded. We will also present videos with different techniques to stabilize an IOL in the sclera. Conclusion We will produce evidence that scleral embedded IOLs is a safe and easy procedure which produces very good results.
